Spring is officially here at Mosaic Moments. Our world is waking up from its winter slumber. The trees are budding. The daffodils are blooming. And we are using pastels on our scrapbook pages!
For many of us, we have Spring and Easter layouts to make and we love using pastel grid paper colors. We have some tips and some great examples of pages using pastel 12x12 Grid paper. Above is a beautiful page made by Paije using the Gratitude grid paper. It is a lovely
impressionist print of flowers in gorgeous pastel shades. Scroll down to see more!
""Discover Utah Mountains" by Jodi Benson - Pattern #190 (mirrored)
This page uses Kindness from the Happiness Collection. It is a lot like Gratitude. It has the same lovely impressionistic flowers but in more purple and blue pastels. Jodi picked up on those purple tones by using darker purples to mat her photos. We love how this page all came together on this pastel 12x12 Grid!
Since we love using pastel grid paper for spring, we shared our tips in the article "12 Tips for Using Pastel Grid Paper". Click the button below to see all of our ideas using pastel grid.

Here is a page from the past. This layout shows overlapping. This makes it so there is more room on your layout plus it's a great look! Have you ever thought about using a poem on your layout? It's a great way to add journaling and a different type of design element to your page. This layout uses 12x12 Mist grid paper which is a beautiful blue pastel. What a great spring layout!

GRID WORK OF THE WEEK
"Merchant's Square" by Paije Potter - Patterns #341 & #495
This week, your assignment is to try out a pastel grid paper. Pastels are soft colors such as petal pink, pale blue, and lilac. Shown above, Paije used Gratitude from the Happiness Collection. When using pastels, it's important to make sure your layout has some contrast - so be sure to grab colors that are a little darker than your grid paper. In the layout above, Paije used medium blue and purples over her grid.
