Today we are focusing on detail photos and how they are a perfect way to fill in the little spaces on specialty dies. Flowers are one of the most common "filler" photos we take. Flower pictures bring natural beauty and color to those little design spots! Think of your flower pictures as patterned paper and use them with our speciality dies.
There is ONLY 3 days left until the annual Die Sale begins! Have you picked out the dies you want to buy? Our big sales are so popular, items go quick. Save the date and shop early to make sure your dies are in stock!
Day 3: Filler Photo Ideas for Your Dies
"Virginia Living Museum" by Jodi Benson - Pattern #360
On this layout, Jodi used a photo of a pond to fill in the 1x1" squares going around the page. A good tip is to take up-close details and long distance shots of the landscape around you to fill in the smaller places on your page.

GRID WORK OF THE WEEK
"11th Birthday" by Paije Potter - Patterns #477 & #368
Your assignment this week is to get your camera out and take filler photos! This will help you get into the habit to take "filler" shots wherever you go and you might find a great subject for a layout you are already working on.
By filler photos - we mean photos of anything and everything! Go to a garden and take photos of all the flowers, look below your feet and take that pic of the brick walkway, or look up to the sky and capture the clouds. If you need more ideas, check our article here.
Are these photos going to be ones you put in a frame? Probably not. But, they will make great fillers for your specialty dies such as the X-Factor shown above. At her son's birthday, Tami took photos of all the decor, such as the balloons, the presents, and treats. Plus she took a close up of a wrapping paper - which Paije used to fill in the little triangles!
Once you take your filler photos, create a layout with them and share them on our Crop & Share Facebook group. You are welcome to copy the two page spread above for your practice layout this week. We hope to see your pages on the group!
