FAQ:
What is the Difference Between the Basic Bundles?
This is a very common question here at Mosaic Moments. You may have noticed we have three different basic die bundles: the colored bundle, the silver bundle, and the layering bundle. Keep scrolling to learn the difference between all three and determine which set is right for you!
Shown above is our most popular die set, the Colored Basic Die Bundlewhich is made in China. All the dies in this set are color coded to match the colors shown in the Mosaic Moments pattern gallery; so it's easy to
know which dies you need. Just match the colors on your pattern to your dies! The Colored Basic Die Bundle comes with dies that cover the grid and then dies that correspond as layering dies for Set
A-E. Plus, this set comes with the 1x1" grid die for creating mosaics.
Shown above is the silver Basic Die Bundle made in the USA. This bundle only includes Sets A-E. It has the exact same dies as the colored bundle except the 4x6 Mosaic Die shown is sold separately. The dies are held together with thin tabs, so, you will also need to separate them after purchase. We sell the Xuron Micro Shear that works great! You can purchase these Made in the USA sets individually or as a bundle. These dies are made with a better quality steel than our colored die bundle, plus these have a Teflon paint that does not chip as easily. You can label or mark them yourself to match the pattern gallery.
If you already have either of the Basic Die
Bundles, check out our Layering Die Bundle! With the Layering Die Bundle, you can create multiple layers to make your basic pages pop even more (see layout
above). The Layering Die Bundle only contains layering dies that do not fit the grid. You will cut your mat to fit the grid with a basic bundle die, then cut your photo with a layering die. Layering Dies offer the option for a smaller mat. See the difference

Do you like your photo mats thin or thicker; or multiple mats? Then the Layering Die Bundle is for you! This page used the Layering Die Bundle for all of the photos. The Basic Die Bundle was used to cut the colored mats to fit the grid. We love seeing the thin pop of color matting all of these great pictures. When you use the layering dies from the Layering Die Bundle your pictures can be cut a little bigger or a
little smaller than when using the layering dies from the Basic Die Bundle. This is a good option if you would like a thinner, thicker, or multiple mats for your photos. The Basic Die Bundle only offers one mat size. The Layering Die Bundle has two additional mat sizes.
Many have trouble using the layering dies for the 4x6 SQ shape on the grid paper since the dies are a little too big. Watch Paije's video "Tips for Matting 4x6 Photographs with the Layering Dies" to get ideas on how to
crop for this size. Click Below!
