Have you seen our brand new Grid Collection "In the Garden" yet? Here Paije used Clear Skies for her page "Savanah". Pattern #583 is a Mostly Squares pattern found on Mosaic Moments Pattern Gallery. Using the Pattern Gallery ensures a balanced layout. This page is also balanced because the top
and bottom rows have the same size and color brown card stock mats made with the Layering Die Bundle. The focal point is the largest picture in the center and it stands out with a darker shade of brown, a larger mat created with the Basic Die Bundle, and the floral paper embellishments. Doesn't this page make you wish you were in Georgia?
Great Layouts like this one start with the 12x12 Grid to align your elements perfectly. Learn more about Mosaic Moments grid paper by reading the article: "Understanding the Grid". Click the blue box below.

Jodi took her page to the next level with our new 12x12 Grid, Clear Skies. Her page certainly tells a story of a winter day spent snowboarding. Having similar pictures in the same sizes really brings out the action. Jodi placed her pictures so that her snowboarder was facing inwards which allows your eye to follow along creating movement and interest. Her page is perfectly aligned. You can create
the same effect as well, beginning with the Mosaic Moments 12x12 Grid paper.

The grid makes it so easy to get professional looking pages. Watch this video to get some great tips for using the Mosaic Moments® Grid Paper - including how to line up each element over the grid lines correctly and how to organize your dies so you easily know the correct sizes!
"Richmond 2021" by Paije Potter - Patterns #451 & #491
Your assignment this week is to read or watch our video about the Count and Cut system. This will help you understand why our dies are measured the way they are. You can read about the Count and Cut system here or watch our video that explains it here.
For practice you can recreate the layout shown above. After you learn about the count and cut system take a look at the dies you are using. Place one over the grid and count how many squares (grid lines) there are vertically and horizontally. Plus count how many gaps are in between each squares.
For example, you may place a 4x5 SQ die from Set C vertically over the grid. You would count 4 squares + 3 gaps going horizontally and 5 Squares + 4 gaps going vertically. Because the dies are measured in a specific way, all of your elements will be cut neat and straight, plus they will line up perfectly every time!
