It's a new month and a NEW Grid Collection! The new In the Garden Collection will be featured all month. Today, we get a sneak peek of one of the new colors, Peach Blossom, shown above. The soft peach is beautiful contrasted with the bright blues in the photos. A few additional colors in this new collection are shown below and the rest will be revealed soon.
Did you notice, only Level 1 dies were used to create this beautiful layout. When the photos are the focus of your page, simple shapes work well, since they allow the pictures to really shine. Scroll down for more ideas using Level 1 dies.
Level 1 Dies are the dies that are the quickest and easiest to use. You simply grab your photos and papers and cut. They do not require a lot of pre-planning or thinking about how your photos are used. With Level 1 Dies, you can create fabulous pages in minutes. While Level 1 Dies generally only require a single pass through your die-cutting machine, you can always do more, like Jodi did with the Wind Spinner
Set to decorate this page.

Alphabet and number dies are essential to scrapbooking. With them, you can create titles, and put in dates, locations, ages, emotions, themes, and whatever else you desire on your layouts. The newest numbers, the 2x2 Number 2 Dies, shown here, offer a fun and unique way to date a layout. You might also use them to mark a child's age or celebrate a special anniversary. We love how Jodi used pattern paper to cut
them out, here. They are large enough that you might even try them with photos.
Click the blue box below for 11 tips using the Number and Alphabet Dies, including how to get them straight, how to make them stand out, and much more.
Oh, and did you notice the grid paper on this layout? It is the NEW Mulch Grid Paper!
January Freebie Layout Idea + February's New Freebie!
"January 2021" by Paije Potter - Patterns #602 & #331
January is now over, but here is our finalized layout we started at the beginning of the month. On this layout, Paije wanted to share more journaling to tell the story behind each photo - so she added little paper strips. She also cut out little circles (using the circle center frame die) to add the dates.
This Layout Features: 12x12 Plum Grid Paper from Fresh N Fruity Collection, Basic Die Bundle and Layering Die Bundle.
Look for February's freebie in your next order! This layout features 12x12 "Right as Rain" grid paper from the NEW In the Garden Collection - coming soon to snapncrop.com!
The Grid Work for this week is to use Level 1 Dies. Simply re-create the two-page layout above and use one or more Level 1 Dies of your choice.
In the 4x6 and 4x5 spots you can use oval frames, stitch frames, or the scallop mats. There are multiple 2x2, 1x3, and smaller spots to fill with decorative dies, if desired. For this layout, Paije used the 4x5
Oval Frame Die, the Hearts Die Set, and the Stitched Hearts Die Set. She even used one of the heart dies to decorate her oval frame.
So, get out your Level 1 Dies, or get new ones during the sale this weekend, and practice using them with the two patterns shown above.
Tip: The package insert (and website) for the die shows a specific color, such as blue, orange or purple. These are the same colors as the shapes in the pattern gallery and the Basic Die Bundle and show you what shape the die will cover. For example, the 2x2 Heart Die, which is blue on the insert, will fit on a square space. So, you would look for patterns with
blue squares. And, if you wanted to place a solid piece of paper behind the die, you would reach for the Blue Set A from the Basic Die Bundle.
This Layout Features:12x12 Scarlet Grid Paper from featured Tri-Pack "Bunches of Roses" (Coming Soon to Snapncrop.com)
