Hello
Many Mosaic Moments ideas, as well as the pattern gallery, feature single page layouts. A single page is larger and therefore easier to see details, so it just works. However, many of us always create two-page spreads and often what you see in a newsletter is only half of the story, like the layout above.
This week, we want to show you how to work with spreads, so there are articles filled with tips and ideas linked below.
Page Patterns #490 & #373
Here you can see the entire spread and how nicely two different page patterns combine to create a beautiful layout. Click the blue box below to learn how to turn single-page patterns into two-page layouts. The article includes six rules to follow and lots of examples. Then, scroll down for even more
ideas.
This article is packed with additional ideas, tips and "rules" for creating two-page spreads. While we like to say there are no rules in scrapbooking, your layouts will be the best they can be if you follow some of these basic graphic-design tips. And this article will help you know which page patterns work well together, and which ones might not. Click the blue box below.
This Layout Features:12x12 Pear from Fresh N Fruity Collection. Numbers die set 1, Chippendale die set, Layering Die Bundle, and Basic Die Bundle.
Share your Mosaic Moments pages and see what others are creating with Mosaic Moments products on our Private Crop & Share Facebook Group. This group is for sharing pages only. Posts that do not include images of
customer's Mosaic Moments System pages will be deleted without notice.
Please note:Reading and agreeing to the group rules is required before access to this private group.
Pattern Gallery Update: Now All Patterns Have one or More Example Layouts!
For those of you who have been waiting for sample layouts - now every single pattern on the gallery has one or more example pages! The design team has worked hard to get all the layouts out for you to be inspired. Not familiar with our pattern gallery? Learn more below:
One of the secrets to the Mosaic Moments System is the Pattern Gallery. This free, online database contains 510 patterns to follow, with more added all year long. The colored boxes on the patterns match the colored Basic Bundle Dies, but you can substitute any die with that shape. Then, you simply cut paper, cardstock, photos or ephemera to fit the space and
adhere it to grid paper.
If you hover over the pattern with your mouse, you will see an example of that pattern, like the one shown top center above. If there are multiple examples (shown by the number of dots below the pattern), there will be an arrow on the right and left that you can click to see additional examples using that pattern. The differences are remarkable and it's why we can use the same pattern over and over and never
have two pages that look the same.
If you are creating a two-page spread, you will see the category that pattern belongs in just above the pattern. For example, the top left pattern shown above is a Rows Pattern and the one below it is a Mosaic Pattern. As you read the articles on creating two-page spreads, you will see these mentioned. For example, you will learn that a Pinwheel Pattern goes well with any other pattern
category.
When you find a pattern you wish to use, click the yellow box that says, "View Pattern Details." Here, you will find the exact measurements of each space on the pattern, how many of each shape die to cut out, and a place where you can print the pattern.
It is an incredible gift to be able to use this ever-growing library for free. Spend some time there and enjoy the inspiration!
"Love Never Melts" by Jodi Benson - Page Patterns #236 (slightly adjusted) & #301
Each week, we are giving you an assignment. If you accept the challenge and make a layout each week, at the end of 2021 you will have 52 layouts scrapbooked! That is an entire album.
Here is your second grid-work assignment of the year. Using the tips from any of our Two-Page Ideas articles, go to the pattern
gallery, and choose two patterns you can use together. Then create a two-page spread with your chosen patterns.
For example, you could find a three-column pattern you would like to use, and then find a pinwheel pattern with similar elements to go with it!
Once you are finished, you can share you finished layout on our Crop N Share group page. Click the button to join!
