When you have beautiful photos of summer, showcase them. Here, Danielle photographed photos of the kids playing at the secret swimming hole. The close-up photos and bright colors make for a happy layout. We love how she added the Wave Border Die to the journaling block to make sure we know this page is about the water.

If you are fortunate enough to take a trip this summer, try taking the photos with a layout in mind. Notice on this page how Jodi used two narrow shots of the "miles" of decking to relax on while on board on each side of the layout. They perfectly frame in the port shot and are a great balance to the family fun photos also included. Click the blue box below for more summer ideas.
This travel page focuses on the details in the ocean and features the new Beachgrass Grid Paper. We love how Paije included one photo from a distance to keep things in perspective.
She also created a hidden journaling block on this layout to explain all of the details. To create something similar, extend the paper a bit where you want the flap to be, score it, fold and adhere it to the cover to create a hinge. This way, all of your details are preserved, but the journaling does not interfere with the design of the layout.
This entire layout uses only one die set, the B Die Set. The mix of vertical and horizontal images, and the different sizes, keep it from being boring. Sometimes, simple layouts are best -- especially when you have such beautiful photos to showcase.
