When you want a variety of papers and/or photos to sit next to each other without the 1/8-inch gap we typically expect when working with Grid Paper, you use the new 5 SQ Blocking Die Set. This die set offers a whole new look to Mosaic Moments
scrapbooking. Check out our examples below ...
The Five Square Blocking Set allows you to combine rectangle and triangle shapes together, within a 5-by-5 block square. Notice how Paije created a bit of a pinwheel pattern using the die set above.
SnapFixTip: Try placing a similar photo in each corner to provide a frame on your page. Paije did this above with photos of mums.
Photo Blocking
Three photo blocks (a rectangle and two squares) were cut to create each of the 5.5 inch sections on the page above. Less gaps equals more photo. Do you like the look? Layering options are also included in the 5 SQ Blocking die set. See the example below.
This page pattern is one of the early 5 Square Blocking die set designs. It's a simple layout with tiny squares accenting large squares. When you replace some of those large squares with the new Five Square Blocking Set, you have space for an additional photo and a whole lot of bright, funky papers!
SnapFix Tip: With the Five Square Blocking Set you can cut the same photo twice, like Jodi did on the top right, or, combine two different photos like she did on the bottom left.
Andrea used the new Five Square Blocking Set to create a beautiful quilt design on her layout. Learn how to do, and get her tips and tricks by clicking the blue box below.
