Originally an architectural masterpiece, arches are often found in churches, gardens and homes. When scrapbooking, they can add a bit of elegance, formality or history to the page. The shape works particularly well with portraits. Get some ideas for incorporating arches onto your next layout below.
Classical, formal gardens are filled with arches, so it is only fitting to incorporate arches onto pages that feature pictures from the garden. We love how elegant the arches make these beautiful photos.
SnapFixTip: Monotone or muted patterned papers, like the ones used above, are perfect for layering and photo mats. They add interest without drawing attention away from the photos.

Nothing says "wedding" like an arch! We love how Jodi used the large arch in the center to showcase the church and the happy couple. There are few shapes that will allow you to see the steeple. It's just beautiful.
SnapFix Tip: You can add texture to your die cuts by embossing them, like Jodi did in the page above (the arches on each side of the layout are embossed). Simply run them through an embossing folder after cutting them out. Then add chalk to the raised edges to make it really stand
out.
Of course, arches can be fun as well. Look at how Andrea used them to frame her grandkids. Click the box below to see the other side of this two-page spread.
