It's February and love is in the air! Hearts are an obvious choice when showcasing a loving couple, but they can also be used on layouts of children, pets, nature, sports, and, well, anything you love. Take a peek at some of our examples below ...
There were not a lot of photos for this page, so Paije created a beautiful design to complement and fill in the rest of the space. It reminds me of a lovely quilt. And, just like a quilt, the striped pattern is created by piecing together corner tiles.
SnapFixTip: Details matter. This layout is successful because Paije made sure to keep the patterned paper going in the same direction. It's not difficult because the grid lines naturally hide any slight imperfections.
We all love our pets. What better way to show that love (and use up some of the hundreds of photos we take of them) than with a layout accented in hearts.
SnapFix Tip: Use the scraps. Notice the puppy pic in the center of Paije's layout? It has a heart Paije used to journal the age of the puppy. The heart is the scrap left from cutting out the border hearts. Clever!
This layout is actually a two-page spread, using two different page patterns. By using the same color Grid Paper, patterned paper and cardstocks and repeating some of the heart borders, the spread goes together perfectly. Use this trick whenever you have a lot of photos that are different sizes or go in different directions. Just about any two patterns can go together if you match the colors.
Our children and grandchildren are the loves of our lives. What better way to showcase that than with a layout covered in hearts. We love how Andrea made her own playing cards using the oval border and hearts. Learn how she did it, and see another version of the same theme, by clicking below.
