Whether you like the cold or not, winter offers an opportunity to showcase beautiful photos. It's a break from our usual color palette and embellishments. For just a few months of the year, we get to highlight our photos using blues, purples and reds and add snowflakes, mittens and snow people to our layouts. Here are a few samples to get your creative
juices flowing.
Adding a 2x2 die, like the Crystal die above, is a great way to reinforce a theme. In this layout, featuring patterned paper from BoBunny™, Paije uses the Crystal die to help move your eye around the page.
SnapFixTip: Using a collection of patterned papers is a great way to brainlessly mix patterns and colors. Generally, a designer has already made sure that all of the papers in the collection coordinate together.
Page Pattern #385 is a great way to add a bit of fun to the layout, while still keeping photos the focus. It allows for seven large photos, with spots for smaller ones if desired. On this sample, Paije used patterned paper from from PhotoPlay™ to accentuate her photos.
SnapFix Tip: Try patterned paper with die cuts -- the results may surprise you. Look at how Paije used the snowflake pattern in the mitten die above. It makes the mittens look almost like stamped designs. Very cool.
