In the beginning, there was Grid Paper. The foundation of all Mosaic Moments® pages, Grid Paper is actually thick, photo-safe cardstock with fine 1-inch markings separated by 1/8" gutters. This becomes the background of your layout and all other elements are placed on top of
it. Whether you cut by hand or use dies, everything lines up perfectly and stays nice and neat.
Grid Paper comes in both printed and solid colors, in several sizes and a plethora of shades. The backside does not have grid lines on it, so you can use it for photo mats, die cuts and matching journaling
blocks.
Grid Paper allows for any size square or rectangle from 1-inch to 11 1/8" wide and tall. And, you are able to mix and match in any combination. Above, Paije mixed both horizontal and vertical photos with a Mosaic photo (a photo cut into 1-inch
squares).
SnapFixTip: The only rule when working with Mosaic Moments® Grid Paper is cover all of the grid lines with something. When placing an element that doesn't cover the grid, like the oval title blocks in the layout above, placing a rectangle piece of patterned paper or cardstock behind it covers
the grid lines and adds extra color or a fun pattern to your page.

Page Pattern #305 features three columns of elements. Columns work well when you have lots of
photos to get on a single page (or two-page layout). This layout, for example, has 18 photos -- and it could hold a few more if journaling wasn't needed.
SnapFix Tip: Solid-colored Grid Paper really makes the photos pop. Whenever your photos have the same colors to them -- like landscape photos or beach photos -- try a few shades of Grid Paper behind them and see what makes the photos sing. Sometimes it's a color in the photos, but sometimes it can be an
opposite color or even black or white. You might be surprised.
