Got Pinterest? - Check out Snapncrop's Pinterest Page to get inspiration. The "Great Photo Ideas for Mosaic Moments Pages" board shows images collected from Pinterest to inspire different types of photographs to take for Mosaic Moments pages.

How can this particular board  inspire you? This inspires what kind of photographs to take. If you look on this board, you will see many pictures of flowers, foods, Textures, candies, fruits, etc. Whenever you bring your camera to a family reunion, the beach, a vacation or even at home keep an eye out of the little things that would look great as a mosaic.

Here is an example of how we were inspired:
On Pinterest, you will find many photographs of seashells. They are so pretty and look wonderful on any pages of the beach/ocean. We had this Pin on our board:

This would be a wonderful photograph to cut into 1 in. squares for a mosaic look. This photo can inspire you to also take close up shots of seashells.

This Pinterest board helps you gather ideas on different photos. Whenever you have your camera keep a look out for anything that would create texture on Mosaic Moments pages.

Below is a page we created using our own close up shot of seashells.

On this page there are two close up shots on each side of seashells and in the center is a row of close up shots as well.

Look at how the photos add texture, color, and interest to the page. These type of photographs are what make Mosaic pages look great!

Pattern # 116 - Symmetrical Collage

This is the newest page pattern added to our blog. This is a symmetrical pattern with enough space for 7-8 photos. This pattern is wonderful if you want a specific photo as your focal point (the 6.625w x 4.375h block near the top) and if you have one or two detail photographs for the mosaic space.

Be inspired by the Science Fiction genre for the next Mosaic Moments page you create. If you are not familiar with Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, or the science fiction genre, Don't Panic! We have written a little guide to help you...

March into inspiration with Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. See list below for details:

    The Title
  • Use the Book Title as the Basis for Your Page Title. Examples: Your Page Title could be: "The Hitchhiker's Guide to My Town", "Hitchhiker's Guide to Traveling Route 66", or "The Best Friend's Guide to the Galaxy"

    The Genre - Science Fiction

  • Think of Colors That Remind You of this Genre. Examples: Black, Silver, Blue, and Green

Quotes and Phrases

Here are a few Phrases from the Book to possibly use as a title or journaling or help you create a theme for your page:

  • "Don't Panic"
  • "... The Answer to Life, the Universe, and Everything"
  • "A Towel (The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy) says, is about the most massively useful thing..."

    Icons & Imagery

  • Thumbs Up (Hitchhiker's Thumb)
  • Planets
  • Stars
  • Signs (like road signs with journaling)

Here is an Image of the Thumb's Up Symbol. This is often shown on the front cover of the book, and represents the Hitchhiker.

This would be a funny symbol to use on your page to show some inspiration from the story. FYI - We have a Thumbs Up Cornerstone right on snapncrop you can use as well.

    Textures

Think of textures that say Science Fiction to you

  • Smooth and Shiny - Science Fiction is often a clean look.
Here are some examples of Sci-Fi Textures to help influence what kind of embellishments, pattern paper and photos to choose.

Page Theme

  1. Advice to Love Ones - Make a "Guide" you may want them to have
  2. Traveling to New Places - You probably haven't traveled the Universe, but you can create a theme of traveling to strange and new places.
  3. The Joys - A theme in the book is to find joy in the adventure. Show us the joys in your own adventures.

Of Course one Aspect that is important to this particular story is Humor - so be sure to convey this on your page.

This list is a start to help you get inspired and start brainstorming for a page. If you still need some more help, stay tuned for next week's newsletter to see how we use this list to create a Mosaic Moments page.
