It's December and the first day of winter is almost here with the promise of holiday celebrations and fresh fallen snow. Santa's checked his list, now it's time to check yours! At the top of the list, a camera check. Is it charged and ready to go? You'll want to be prepared to capture these "storybook scenes" as they unfold:

  • Children trying to catch a snowflake on their tongue
  • Decorative stockings hanging in a row
  • Singing carols around a piano - or around the neighborhood
  • Children playing with new toys
  • Dressing elegantly for New Years Eve festivities
  • Kitchens filled with fresh baked goodies
  • Evenings gathered around the fireplace
  • Wide eyes taking in the sights of the season
  • Holiday cards arriving in a mailbox dressed for the season
  • Christmas trees tied to car tops
  • Reflections in colorful glass ornaments
  • The antics of pets under the tree and in the snow
  • Making snow angles and building snowmen
  • Decorations all around - from the wreath on the door to the garlands on the banisters
  • Years of collectibles placed on display
  • Enjoying cups of hot cocoa dressed with marshmallows
  • Children all bundled up
  • Scarves, mittens, and hats hung for the ready
  • Outings to enjoy the colorful lights
  • Packing for trips to see aunts and grandmas.

While you are preparing your camera, come and take a look at the Cropdog Member Gallery for some great inspiration and share your winter holiday pages too!

Here are a few examples of what you will see:  1. 12x12 Christmas by Tami   2. "Nashville Gaylord Opryland" by moedog   3. 12x12 "Welcome to Winterfest" by Heather Cartland.
