Do you like adding little poems or phrases to your pages? Tami was inspired to create this page from teaching her daughter about acrostic poems. This page features Snapncrop's Free Summer Download. Here is a peek at Tami's post:
"This was our first week "back to school." I decided to take some time this year to encourage my daughter to further explore poetry. This week we are focusing on Acrostic poems. (a poem or other form of writing in which the first letter, syllable or word of each line, paragraph or other recurring feature in the text spells out a word or a message.)
Alexis wrote a lovely little poem about Panda's in China the first day, and a poem about Random Imagination the second. I am looking forward to seeing what she will come up with tomorrow. In the mean time, I thought may be I should use the idea for inspiration. An Acrostic Scrapbook page?"

August's Mosaic Moments Challenge: Photos inspired Texture
Choose an enjoyable location that you frequently visit or that you have always wanted to go to but just haven't taken the time. (The location should have a lot of interest to you either nature or man made. It could be a park, a historic area, a botanical garden, a nature trail...) Spend a couple of hours (or more) taking pictures of detail. Capture the textures.
Pay attention to the lighting - showing off textures requires attention to how the light is reflecting off of the subject and creating shadows. Changing your point of view / direction might make a big difference in the final result.
On your page(s) include: some distant shots (so we can see the overall location) and lots of detail shots that show off the textures.
Here is a page inspired by my chosen textures:
You may have seen this page before on the Page Pattern Blog. This page shows the Old San Juan area in Puerto Rico. I knew as soon as I came here I was going to get close up shots of all the textures. There were so many to choose from! When you pick your favorite spot, search for textures that stand out to you. Texture shots are wonderful to use as an embellishment on your page.
Notice how I used the texture photograph at the bottom of the page. Here is a close up shot:
Here are a few photographs from my trip that show different textures (click images for a closer view):
Here is the image I chose to add onto the page:
Have fun taking photographs of the different textures! Remember to go to your spot during different times of the day. Lighting during the day effects the colors and the different shadows shown in your photos. Also, take many photographs - you might be surprised on how many textures you find!
Scrappin' with Silhouettes
Have you ever taken a great photograph, but there is a distracting background? Maybe you have wanted to cut around an image and wondered how to use it with the Mosaic Moments(TM) system? This post is all about using sillouettes. There are two images of sillouettes below in the bottom two corners of this page:
This page was created with one of the new grid paper colors, Coffee
Visit the Design Each Moment Blog to learn more about this process and when it is best to use it. This post will also show how to create a 3D look.

Mosaic Moments Inspired Photo: Textures
Here is a peek of Tami's Texture Inspired Photo post from July:
"When we started walking down the streets in the French Quarter I knew I wasn't going to have enough time to capture all that I wanted to. I really feel like I need a week to go back and snap all the wonderful colors and textures."

Puzzle Pattern with Mosaic Accents
Page Pattern Description: This is a three row pattern with a square center as the focal point.
Top Row: Starting from the left, this row has a 4.375w x 3.25h block, two 1 x 3.25h strips, a 2.125w x 3.25h block, a 1 x 3.25h strip and a column of three 1 in. squares.
Middle Row: This row has a 4.375 block in the center (the focal point) and two 3.25w x 4.375h blocks on both sides of it.
Bottom Row: This row mirrors the top row with the same block sizes.
This page was made with this month's Feature grid paper, Sandstone
"Summer Bride" supplies used: This page was created using Mosaic Moments(TM) 12x12 Sandstone grid paper. Colored card-stock was used for matting the photographs. I also used metal accents as embellishments.
Featuring Julie's "Latitude & Longitude"
In July the design team was challenged to create a page based on their
spot on the big blue marble, and Julie used the challenge to create a
page about her home. Isn't it a beautful spot? Doesn't her page make you
feel like you would like to live there? You would feel like you were
always on vacation!
One element that makes her page great is the alligator in the bottom right corner. Notice how its tail sticks out of the grid? This is a really cute and fun detail, and is a wonderful element you can add to your Mosaic Moment pages.
Her page also inspires us to capture all the little details around our homes or favorite spot. It can be easy to forget about the details so it is always wonderful to take photographs of places close to our heart.
See more of Julie's page and the story behind it on her post. Also, visit Journella to cheer all of the design team members.
