MOSAIC MOMENTS® PRESENTS:
"Kite Flying OBX 2019" by Paije Potter - Pattern #800
Hello
Have you ever held a shell to your ear, just to catch a whisper of the ocean?
That’s exactly how it felt when I started seeing comments and messages
about the Shell Frame Die. I hadn’t planned on including it in this year’s Die Drop—it wasn’t even on my radar. But then the whispers turned into waves: “Will the Shell Die ever come back?” “I missed it—please bring it back!”
So here it is—thanks to you and your gentle nudging—our
whimsical and wonderful Shell Frame Die is back! It’s perfect for beach days, sea-side adventures, or just adding a splash of coastal fun to your scrapbook pages.
And that’s not all... this email also features the clever and versatile Corner Strip Dies—great for framing your
favorite memories in a whole new way.
Don’t miss the amazing inspiration from our Design Team. Their pages will spark so many ideas you might just hear the ocean calling too!
But please remember, both of these dies are here only for now. Once they’re gone, they won’t return for many moons. If they’re calling your name, grab them before they disappear again.
Have a you're-worth-it week!
Tami Potter

Jodi’s Good Morning Sun layout is a breathtaking reminder of why we scrapbook: to hold onto those fleeting, beautiful moments and tell the quiet, powerful stories that live in our hearts.
This page captures a peaceful walk on the beach—gentle waves, soft
sunrise light, and thoughtful details like seashells, foam, and footprints in the sand. It’s not about a big event or a planned outing—it’s about presence. About watching the sky change color and feeling connected to something simple and meaningful.
At the center of it all is the
Shell Frame Die, perfectly placed as a visual and emotional focal point. It’s more than decoration—it’s metaphor. The shell shape echoes nature’s design, and the way Jodi filled it with patterned paper and soft photos mirrors how we collect bits of beauty from life and piece them together to make sense of our stories. She even used the center space to journal—"Good Morning Sun, OBX 2024"—so viewers immediately feel the warmth and intention behind the
layout.
This is why we love the beach. Why we scrapbook. To remember mornings like this. To turn the everyday into something we’ll always treasure.

Design Story: Structure Meets Serenity
& Harmony in Repetition
"Beautiful Bear Lake" by Jodi Benson
Dies needed to create this look:
Corner Strips & Connector
Layering Die Bundle Colored A-L through E-L
Basic Die Bundle A-E & 1" Grid - Colored
Jodi’s “Beautiful Bear Lake” layout is a stunning example of how smart die design can elevate the entire story of a scrapbook page.
Structure Meets Serenity:
She used the Corner Strips & Connector Die from the Cutting Corner Series to create a polished, structured border that frames her lake day memories with grace and balance. The die’s right angles and perfect spacing act like a picture frame—giving each photo room to breathe while still pulling the viewer’s eye inward.
The soft white grid and brown mat are calming and clean, which allows the lake blues, sun-washed skies, and joyful paddle board moments to take center stage. Meanwhile, the bold orange and yellow pattern paper (sunbursts and sunshine halves!) adds warmth and energy—giving the page a sunlit glow that mimics the real feel of a perfect summer day outdoors.
Harmony in Repetition:
Jodi’s repeating photo sizes and symmetrical layout create a rhythm—like gentle waves around the main photo of her daughter relaxing in a beach chair. It feels both peaceful and intentional, and the pattern paper strips used in the Corner Strips die form a visual loop that mirrors the feeling of being
surrounded by water, sky, and sunshine.
This layout is proof that a well-chosen die—especially from the Corner Cut-Out Collection—can do more than just crop your photos. It shapes the entire story, sets the tone, and invites you to relive
a beautiful day all over again.

Paije’s “OBX Fun 2023” layout is a bright and
cheerful celebration of beach memories—and the color story brings all the fun, sun, and family energy to life.
A Color Palette that Pops
The bold sunny yellow Shell Frame Dies instantly draw the eye and give the layout a playful warmth,
just like sunshine on sand. They also create a clear focal point for the collection of smaller photos inside, from beach adventures to iconic Outer Banks landmarks. Layered over soft teal floral pattern paper, the contrast is striking—bright yellow pops against the cool-toned background, like sunflowers in a summer breeze.
Teal + Pink = Coastal Charm
The sea-green Mosaic Moments grid background, 12x12 Energy Drink, sets the tone for a beachy atmosphere, and Paije leaned into a soft retro vibe with her paper choices. The floral pattern mixes seafoam, soft teal, coral, and white to echo a breezy coastal garden. The bubblegum pink mats are unexpected—but they add a perfect punch of brightness, bringing out the joyful spirit of the children playing in the sand and the
relaxed family snapshots.
Balancing Brights & Neutrals
To keep things grounded, Paije included neutral-toned photos (weathered wood, overcast skies, sandy textures) alongside the more vibrant images. This balance prevents the page from feeling overwhelming and helps the
Shell Frame photos shine as storytelling anchors.
Final Touch
The little "OBX" title block 1x1's in warm yellow with cut-out icons ties the whole palette together. It’s playful, personal, and completes the visual loop on the
page.
In short, this layout’s color story is more than pretty—it's powerful. It tells us exactly how this trip felt: warm, full of life, and sprinkled with sunshine.

In "Winter
& the Beach", Paije uses the Corner Strips & Connector Dies not just to frame her photos—but to frame her story. The soft tones of the ocean scenes, the wild horses of Corolla, and that perfect shell find come together to document a unique and meaningful January day at the coast.
What makes this layout extra special is how the journaling literally wraps around the experience. Cut from the grid paper itself, the four 4x4 corner strips cradle simple, heartfelt writing:
“Winter-time in the Outer Banks → Tami, Kevin, Jaime, & Kim. After the
trip to Disney World we wanted to visit the beach house too! Photos show the beach in Duck and the wild horses in Corolla. January 15, 2024 <3”
The photos echo the story: in every corner, loved ones are gazing out at the ocean, lost in the view. Down the center, cool-toned
beachscapes and elegant pelicans lead your eye straight to the highlight—the center photo of a treasured shell, held up in delight.
This page is proof that your journaling doesn’t have to be in a block of text—it can flow with your design. By writing directly into the corners of
her layout, Paije lets her story unfold naturally, guiding us through the memory in a way that feels personal and beautifully unforced.
Let your photos, papers, and dies help tell your story—just like this.
