Want to pick the perfect pattern for your Mosaic Moments layout? Just follow these four simple steps!

1. Choose Your Layout Style - Start by deciding on the overall look you want. There are four main styles to choose from:

• Basic Collage – Clean and simple, great for storytelling.
• Mosaic – Create a seamless, artistic blend of photos.
• Strip Style – Wonderful for a panoramic look.
• Specialty Die – Add unique design elements for more advanced Mosaic Moments scrapbooking.

2. Pick Your Focal Point Photo - Which photo do you want to stand out the most? Make sure it fits the layout:

• Is it vertical or horizontal?
• Will it be large or medium in size?

3. Check Your Dies  - Make sure your chosen dies fit your design! Some dies require specific photo sizes or extra space to shine.

4. Select Your Secondary Photos

• Are they vertical or horizontal?
• How many do you have? Do you need more or fewer design spots?
• Do you have close-ups or wide shots? Can they be cropped smaller?

Example: Working Through the 4 Steps of Picking a Pattern

For this layout, Paije wanted a basic collage style to keep the focus on her photos.

Step 1: Choose a Style – She opted for a basic collage to showcase her images without intricate cuts.
Step 2: Pick a Focal Point – Her standout photo was a large vertical shot of an arch, making it the centerpiece of her design.
Step 3: Check Your Dies – Since her photos couldn’t be cropped very small, she needed a pattern with larger photo spaces.
Step 4: Look at Secondary Photos – Most of her images were vertical, with just one horizontal photo. Pattern 200 was the perfect match! It had all the spaces she needed, plus two 1x3 spots at the top, where she added a beautiful close-up of the tree blooms to complement the scene.

By following these four simple steps, Paije found a layout that worked seamlessly with her photos—and you can too!

Bonus Step: if you have more spaces on your pattern than you have photos you can fill the extra space with decorative dies, embellishments, patterned paper or journaling.
